With genius timing (luck) we sold our house on the south coast of England near Lewes in
March 2007 to embark on a “Grand Vacance” in a motor home with our 2 youngest children
before it was time for Oliver to start school..
A 4½ month trip down through France and into Italy followed returning back to England, we hoped ,
in time for Olivers subscription to a school and to find our next house..
All was going according to plan until we decided that, as we were near, we would call in and see
Claires aunt and uncle who have lived in France for 15+ years.
The whirlwind then followed:
Monday: Go into town to get ice cream for kids, look in estate agent window on way. Sit and drink
coffee whilst kids eat ice-cream and discuss estate agents window offerings. On walk back swap
Estate agent windows and decide we rather like the look of an old farm. Go into estate agent and
arrange viewing.
Tuesday: View farm....think.....a lot
Wednesday: Think....a lot more......make appointment to see local bank.
Thursday: See local bank....think more.
Friday: Make offer on farm, accepted...panic!!!!!
So that was then July 2007, we moved in on the 28th September and the new adventure took off.
For what happened and what's planned follow us through the years.
